If you've known for me for more than .5 seconds you're well aware of how much I love coconut everything. Coconut milk in my coffee, coconut cream in my oatmeal, coconut oil in my baths, on my toothbrush, and all over my whole damn body. It really is the miracle ingredient. And while this isn't necessary anything new or shocking in the wellness space, there is a new product that has elevated all my coconut dreams.
Nucifera is NEXT LEVEL my friends.
Developed by Meredith Baird, author of Coconut Kitchen cookbook, she has moved from what you put in your body, to what you put on it. The Nucifera Balm calms all the fears of what is actually going into the products that you're slathering on your skin. Let us not forget that your skin is the largest organ of your body. It is incredibly important to pay attention to what goes on top of it!
While you can use this balm for a handful of things (makeup remover, hair mask, body scrub, sex lube, and even deodorant) I primarily use it as a body butter after I jump out of the shower. I've found that with regular coconut oil on my skin I get too... well.... oily. It feels delectable but never seems to fully seep in. Unfortunately, I don't have hours to spend naked in my home waiting for it to dry up before getting dressed. Alas, Nucifera to the rescue.
The balm perfectly glimmers, evens out skin tone, boosts collagen, moisturizes and heals rough spots, and melts into your skin without feeling greasy. Not to mention that it has a hint of palo santo smell (!!!), mixed with lavender, coconut and other magic pixie dust scents. It's simply delicious. Occasionally I massage it into my body prior to an evening meditation to really set the space for piece of mind. It offers the perfect amount of consistancy and smell to ground me into the moment.
Nucifera manages to feel like luxury without the aggressive price tag. I snagged some off of her site (here) but you can also grab it in stores at Anthropologie or on Amazon. Happy coconut-ing!
